Riverboat cruising is not at all like blue water cruising. The ambiance is relaxed and friendly and there’s time to escape the rush of the 21st century and to focus on the pleasure of exploring, free from TV and other modern distractions. You are not confined to your boat and you discover what lies beyond the riverbank on frequent shore excursions with local guides to villages, markets, historic sites and national parks. It is a time to unwind, relax and rediscover your world. Vessels are small (some with a maximum of just 24 passengers), but the spacious decks allow you to watch the countryside and villages as you glide by. Cabins are air-conditioned, with one or two beds, ensuite facilities and a sitting area. There are sun decks, saloon lounges, a dining room and bar and delicious meals offer a variety of local fare.
Staff at Active Travel have travelled aboard every vessel featured on this website and we can provide appropriate advice and direction on choosing the right river cruise vessel and destination for your holiday. No agent in Australia can rival our experience in organising exotic riveroat journeys on the great rivers of Asia and India. |
